Riverlock Group is a family company with particular interest in livestock and kiwifruit. Riverlock has a long history in Opotiki dating back to 1945. The business fields in which Riverlock encompass are dairy farms, dairy support station, kiwifruit orchards, a kiwifruit packhouse and coolstore. Riverlock offers job opportunities for kiwis both locally and nationally and overseas travellers with WHS visas interested in these areas.
Riverlock Packhouse and Coolstore is run by an experienced and effective, many competent people make up our team. These include box makers, tray preparers, packers, stackers and strappers, graders, weight and count monitors, label operator, bin tipper, quality controllers, fork lifters, EANs, coolstore experts and supervisors not forgetting our highly motivated management team. A high standard is kept when packing and exporting kiwifruit. Riverlock packs its own kiwifruit and also other valued growers from Opotiki, Te Puke, Te Kaha and Gisborne. Health and safety is notably important in a high food standard area and Riverlock insures this is kept to implacable standards. Health and safety is of paramount consideration to ensure that we are complying with legal obligations for export markets.
There are many tasks within an orchard that need to be performed to ensure the maximum quality and production of the fruit. Some of the tasks involved are Summer and Winter pruning, Fruit thinning, bud thinning, PSA monitoring, twirling, tying, girdling, spraying, mowing, mulching and harvesting. Riverlock grows G3 and Hayward in large quantities as well as smaller quantities of G11 and G9. Riverlock owns orchard in Gisborne, Te Kaha, Te Puke and Opotiki as well as managing the orchards of our valued growers.

Riverlock and Brooklyn are dairy farms that supply milk to Fonterra. The farms pay particular attention to animal health, effluent procedures, sustainable dairy practices and a safe farming environment for staff and visitors. Haupapa Station is used for dairy support and bull rearing. It has rolling contour with 500 metres elevation. Crops are also grown on Haupapa for Winter-feeding.
